Johanna Magin writes poetry and experimental short fiction from her perch in Paris. Her writing can be found in a number of fine reviews in the US, Canada, and the UK (more in the Poetry section). Her recent honors include: two-time finalist for the National Poetry Series (US, 2025 and 2026), finalist for Narrative Magazine’s 2025 Poetry Contest (US), shortlisted for the 2025 Fish Publishing Prize (Ireland), winner of the 2024 Loraine Williams Poetry Prize (US), two-time finalist for the Montreal International Poetry Prize (Canada, 2024 and 2026), and longlisted for the 2024 National Poetry Competition (UK). She holds a PhD in French Literature from Columbia University and has taught for nearly 15 years at the university level.
